Nearly 200 people gathered for the Marine Corps Birthday Ball at the SunRiver Clubhouse in St. George. According to organizer and Adjutant Pat Lisi, of the Marine Corps Dixie League, about 85 of those who attended were Marines. This is the seventh year organizers in St. George have held the birthday celebration.
Several people were honored for the length and bravery of their service.
Also honored were Marines who recently passed away.
A traditional Marine Corps cake ceremony honored the eldest attending Marine, Karl Jenkins, and the youngest serving Marine, McKenzie Utter, with the first bite of cake.

As a Vietnam veteran. with 2 tours in county Veterans Day means absolutely nothing to me. the government sold us out I don’t ask the government for anything and never will. I’m not interested in a military funeral either. I love my country. and not the government and what it does
