News short: Driver loses consciousness, crashes into tree

SANTA CLARA — Ivins Ambulance transported one man to the hospital after his truck crashed into a tree Friday morning near the intersection of Pearl Rose Drive and Country Lane in Santa Clara.

Just after 10 a.m., a man driving a Ford F250 was traveling northbound on Country Lane in Santa Clara, said Santa Clara Police Lt. Scott Bannon. Just after passing Pearl Rose Drive, the truck crossed the southbound lane, continued up over the curb on the west side of the road, knocked over a pine tree and then collided with a mulberry tree.

“The man was unconscious,” Bannon said. “We are not sure if he had a medical condition.”

Santa Clara Fire Department, Santa Clara Police officers and Ivins Ambulance responded to the scene.

Ivins Ambulance transported the man to Dixie Regional Medical Center.

The truck was towed.

    It was a medical reason. there were no drugs or anything else involved.
