2 Colorado City juveniles charged with child molestation

COLORADO CITY – Mohave County Sheriff’s detectives submitted juvenile referrals on two Colorado City brothers Monday afternoon for alleged child molestation and sexual conduct with minors.

A 17-year-old boy was charged with sexual conduct with a minor and two felony counts of child molestation, according to a press release from the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. A 14-year-old boy was charged with one felony count of child molestation.

Investigations into the incidents began Oct. 13 after deputies responded to a call of a 10-year-old girl being sexually assaulted. The person reporting the incident told deputies the assault had been committed by a 17-year-old family member.

“During the investigation, detectives determined (the 17-year-old) had sexual contact with a 10-year-old female victim and he inappropriately touched a 12-year-old female victim,” the press release said. “Both incidents occurred earlier this month.”

Detectives additionally determined that the 14-year-old boy had also inappropriately touched the 12-year-old.

The alleged incidents occurred earlier this month at a residence on Pioneer Street in Colorado City, according to the press release.

The juvenile referrals have been submitted to Mohave County Juvenile Probation, according to the press release.

Juveniles arrested are presumed innocent until adjudicated otherwise in a court of law or as may otherwise be decided by a trier-of-fact.

Juveniles involved in this incident as victims, accused, witnesses or otherwise are not named in light of privacy considerations.

It’s really sad and messed up. And I know this happens a lot more there than is reported.
When children are so suppressed and caged in like that, and punished for asking their parents any kind of sexual questions they have… This is the kind of s*** that happens.

This is part of the context of fundamentalist Mormon polygamy that is overlooked by those who have a “live and let live” philosophy on the issue. This is what occurs with frequency. Thank God for Mohave County Sheriffs deputies for responding and taking action. How many times, though, has Warren Jeffs’ so-called God Squad ignored the pleas of the abused? How many times has the Utah Attorney General and Arizona Attorney General turned a blind eye to what is transpiring out there?

Out there the little girls are reserved for the old men who are worthy. These boys need to respect the worthiness of the priesthood authority.

    • Ed Kociela October 25, 2014 at 11:27 pm

Anybody who supports the sickness of child molestation/rape deserves a jail cell. There is no worthiness on God’s Earth for a “priesthood authority” or anybody else to rape a woman of any age or destroy the life of a little girl.

Get that message across to church authorities, and maybe the AG.

  • just another fellow October 26, 2014 at 12:09 am

I would venture to guess that these boys were victims as well. Some how. Some way. It’s a true tragedy.

  • just saying October 26, 2014 at 7:22 am

Noooooo say it ain’t so. Not in Colorado City.

  • Koolaid October 26, 2014 at 7:31 am

What would happen if this occurred in the Santa Clara area? Remember that girl that attacked there by three older boys?

    • PROTECT THE SHEEP October 26, 2014 at 2:13 pm

It depends on what ward they are in. If they are worthy enough and have ward connections to the judge then nothing will happen. If they are gentile or apostate they go away for a long time. It’s all about who you know etc.

Only two arrested? What about the adults out there? What about what they do to the young girls in the name of spiritual marriage and hiding under an umbrella of religion?

Good job MCSO. Keep up the good work.

  • Madona October 26, 2014 at 12:32 pm

This is a sick sick world we live in.

  • PROTECT THE SHEEP October 26, 2014 at 2:17 pm

Also notice how this was handled by the Mohave County Sheriffs and not the local police force there and wonder why.
