A-List: Blue Linen Boutique

Opinion – You know the kind of love that only exists in fairytales?

Spoiler Alert: It exists in real life too. You’ll discover this to be true the second you arrive at Blue Linen Boutique.  If you don’t agree with me, you obviously haven’t been there yet. Or you’re a boy. And in that case – start taking notes. I promise they will come in handy!

I’ll admit it, I’m a sucker for colorful inspirational journals and perfectly-packaged trinkets. But that’s just two of the million reasons why I adore this boutique. Perhaps the best thing about Blue Linen is its exclusivity. They receive new merchandise almost daily and in very limited quantities – which means you won’t be sporting the same fall sweater as your neighbor, nanny, co-worker, AND boss. It also means that if you’re utterly in love with an item, grab it! It could ultimately be your last chance before it’s gone forever.

Need a bit more convincing? It doesn’t hurt that their high-quality clothing fits just right and stays that way even after you’ve washed it half a dozen times. So, if the price is within your budget – you would be wise to buy your favorite item in every single color. Just sayin’.

The simple fact that a significant handful of the inventory comes from Utah entrepreneurs is also a nice nod to locals. And unlike many boutiques, Blue Linen’s prices don’t have to break the bank. I’m not saying it’s cheap, but it’s certainly affordable. While they do have a few items that are undoubtedly more expensive than others, you can always find something in your price range. Whatever you do purchase, I can assure you: It’s worth every penny.

The clothing features a wide array of styles including: bohemian, chic, casual, trendy, and sophisticated. They carry everything you need from head-to-toe for any outfit and every occasion. You can mix and match each type of fashion to reflect your distinctive personality and make it uniquely your own. Whether you’re 20-something or can’t even remember your age anymore – this store is for you. Because even if clothes aren’t your cup of tea, you’re sure to find your perfect niche in a different corner of the store – like the home goods section!

This portion of the boutique is guaranteed to make every house a home. Capri Blue candles surely help contribute to that aspect. (Yes, you read that right. They do in fact carry those here!) The very best part is that each alluring scent is available in mercury glass, colorful jars, and printed tin – so you can have the same fragrance burning in every room in all different shapes and sizes.  Although I’ve never met a Capri Blue candle that i didn’t like, the famous volcano scent is my all time favorite; modern mint being a close second.

One of the best gifts you can treat yourself to is the volcano room spray. The easiest way to justify this purchase is the actual reality that it will delight every single guest that ever has the pleasure of smelling it, making it the gift that just keeps on giving.

So, what more could you ask for?

How about the most adorable baby attire in the history of ever? Because lets face it – even if you don’t have little ones of your own, you’re bound to know someone who does, or almost does, or knows someone-who-knows someone that might one day. And that’s really the only excuse you need to at least consider taking something baby-related home with you. If you are expecting, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! Sorry for screaming, I’m just so dang happy for you. You’ll find everything you need here – yes, even the Utah renown Petunia diaper bags and Solly baby wraps.

Caution: Unless you have real self control, don’t even attempt to look at the kid’s shoe section. It’s too enticing for words and you’ll end up wanting to take every last tiny pair home with you. Quickly baby-step away from this department when you realize I’m right.

Last but definitely not least – Behind every darling boutique counter, you will find the lovely employees that make the whole experience worthwhile. Every worker I’ve met is helpful and kind and will be your biggest fan waiting outside of the dressing room.

And if you ever have the pleasure of meeting the masterminds behind the entire endeavor, co-owners Shannon Virgin and Kristy Hafen, take the opportunity to shake their hands. And hug them. And thank them for creating a place that no one ever wants to leave.

Are you on your way yet?
