CEDAR CITY – The Cedar City Police Department is holding two people of interest for questioning in an alleged homicide.
According to a press release from the Cedar City police Department, officers responded to a home located at 100 E block of 525 N. in Cedar City at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday where they found a deceased adult male with an apparent gunshot wound.
Police detained two persons of interest and are currently interviewing them regarding the incident, the release said. More information about the victim’s identity will be provided to the public after authorities notify the victim’s next of kin.
Sgt. Jimmy Roden, of the Cedar City Police Department, said the KB Express gas station located at 734 S. Main Street in Cedar City is included in the investigation in relation to the homicide.
The Cedar City Police Department and the Iron Metro SWAT Team responded to the KB Express and it is has not yet been released if persons were taken into custody from that location.
The Cedar City Crime Scene Unit is also investigating a blue Toyota located at the KB Express as part of its ongoing investigation.
Cedar City Police are continuing to process the crime scene and interview witnesses, Roden said. More information will be reported as the investigation continues.
