The motorcyclist was southbound and a white Chevy truck was northbound on River Road.  The motorcylist stopped at the traffic signal at 100 South, and then proceeded with traffic when the signal turned green.  The woman driving the white Chevy truck proceeded to make a left-hand turn toward 100 South at the same time, colliding with the oncoming motorcycle.

The driver of the truck appeared to be in some shock from the accident, St. George Police Lt. Thad Feltner said, but after being evaluated by Gold Cross Ambulance crews, no serious injuries were identified and both the truck driver and motorcycle rider refused transport.

“The motorcyclist hit the front right-hand side of the truck,” Feltner said. “We have an independent witness who observed the crash, and the motorcycle did have the right of way.”

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

Ed. note: Feltner said the driver of the truck appeared to be in some shock, not both driver and rider.

“Anything coming?” “NAH, just some dude on a motorcycle, he don’t matter, run over him.”
I notice no mention of citations here. WHY? (Not why no mention of a citation, why no citation issued?) Must have been someone who is “connected.”

Maybe he was unworthy or too worthy of a citation?

Went by this scene right after it happened. Motorcyclist was wearing full protective gear including a fluorescent green high visibility vest.
Glad the vest worked (sarcasm). They won’t see you if they are not looking for you.
Check for Motorcycles always!!! I may be the person that “I didn’t see him” happens to.

I have never hit a motorcycle, but have on occasion not noticed a bicyclist as I was watching large objects like semis coming and cars and trying to judge distance for my turn. Luckily no real close calls, but the potential is there in traffic and at the same time people in crosswalks. So many accidents on River Rd

They are not obligated to tell you about that. Yes, one was issued and it’s none of anyone business.

Sounds like it must have been you that got the ticket. Nobody’s business? What is everyone’s business is knowing that action was taken against some idiot who is too stupid, too blind, or too self centered to be driving. Obviously, you don’t care if you hurt or kill someone, you just care about what happens to you. I pity you, greatly.
