Mary Draper Lamb Nielsen

NielsenMary obit(March 1, 1931—October 15, 2014)

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend Mary Pauline Draper Lamb Nielsen was called back home to her Heavenly Father on October 15, 2014. She was born March 1, 1931, in Fountain Green, Utah, to Aury H. Draper and Iona Seely. She attended schools in Fountain Green and graduated from Moroni High in 1949. Then she attended Snow College for a short time.

She married her high school sweetheart, Glade Lamb, on April 21, 1950, in the Manti LDS Temple. They moved to Wales, Utah, where they raised a family of four and ran a farm. She loved Wales it was her “HOME”. After her children were all in school, she went to work at the First Security Bank in Mt. Pleasant and Moroni, where she worked for 25 years, part of that time as a manger. She loved her job where she associated with so many people. “Everyone knew Mary.”

She loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in many callings in her ward and stake.

In 1995, she lost her dear husband, Glade. Three years later she met and married a great companion Nephi Mardell Nielsen. They moved to St. George, Utah. He had great love and concern for her. They had a great time together. They traveled many places with family and friends.

Together they served an LDS mission in Hiroshima, Japan, and were currently serving at the Family History Center in St. George. They were inseparable, and always on the go.

Mary had a big heart. Although she has left this earth, she has left us with the wonderful memories and lessons of kindness, love and compassion.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Glade; son, Wayne; and parents. She is survived by her sweet husband, Mardell; sons: Jeff and Scott (Sheri) Lamb; daughter, Sharon (Rex) Daley; step-sons: Scott (Cathy), Brad (Kohnie), Brian (Pam) and Brent (Margene); step-daughters: Kris and Cindy (Mark); and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Richard (Marilyn) Draper and sister, JoAnn (Boyd) Deans.
