ST. GEORGE – A St. George man was arrested Thursday for drug distribution after the Washington County Drug Task Force conducted a controlled drug buy.
Over the last four months, the task force was conducting a narcotics investigation into 47-year-old Bruce Allen Vanderwall, task force Detective J. Jessop said in his probable cause statement supporting the arrest.
During the course of the investigation, the task force conducted a controlled buy of methamphetamine in Washington County through the use of a confidential informant.
Vanderwall was arrested and charged with three second-degree felonies for drug possession with the intent to distribute.
Vanderwall was booked into the Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility on Thursday. His bail is set at $30,000.
This was not Vanderwall’s first run-in with the law. According to Utah court documents, Vanderwall has been charged and convicted of assault and drug possession in the past.
Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
