Desert Hills 54, Payson 7

PAYSON — Desert Hills got off to slow start but accelerated past Payson on its way to a 54-7 spanking of the Lions Friday night at Payson High School.

Nick Warmsley threw for 3 TDs and 180 yards to lead the Thunder offensively, while Tucker Cowdin and Hunter Staley each recorded 3 sacks to lead DH defensively.

Late in the first half, DH led 13-0, but the Lions were inside the Thunder 10-yard line. A defensive stand that included two huge sacks of Payyson QB Easton Smith preserved the shutout. Desert Hills added another score just before halftime to lead 20-0 at the break and two quick TDs in the third quarter turned the game into a runaway.
