SOUTHERN UTAH – The Southwest Utah Public Health Department’s annual flu shootouts for the five-county district begin next week and continue through October.
“This is a convenient way to get your flu shot and help us practice our mass-vaccination plan,” Paulette Valentine, emergency preparedness director for the Southwest Utah Public Health Department, said. “We have teamed up with community partners in each county to help our residents get prepared for flu season. The process is quick, easy, inexpensive, or even free if covered by your insurance.”
It is currently recommended that everyone over 6 months of age get immunized, although young children, pregnant women, people over 65 years of age and anyone with chronic health problems are especially encouraged to do so, according to a press release from the Southwest Utah Public Health Department. Flu activity varies each year, often starting in the fall and peaking in February.

Everyone knows vaccines cause autism in children and who knows what else in adults. And if everyone else gets immunized, and gets autism as a result, then me and my kids wont need to get the vaccine anyways. Simply as that. We have the Church and God to thank for our good health. NOT so-called medical proffesionals who just want to make a quick buck.
Spoken like someone who has never seen the devastation caused by any one if the diseases vaccines cured. These are diseases like Polio, Measules, Mumps, Rubella Small Pox and Pertussis. Vaccines have wiped out or almost wiped out all of those diseases in the U.S and the majority of the world. A few years ago (think 2008-9) we had a pertussis outbreak in the U.S. Why? Because a small amount of the “We have the Church and God to thank for our good health” people travelled to a foreign country where the disease was still somewhat present, caught the disease then brought it back where they transmitted the disease to their kids and a few other unvaccinated kids who played with their kids. Long story short, it killed a few people because they weren’t vaccinated. I’m not a mother but when I become one, I will vaccinate. Why? If it came down to risking autism via vaccine or death because some “We have The Church and God to thank for our health” person decided not to get vaccinated, travelled and got the disease I would choose autism. Yes what I said does happen and no I’m not just making that up. I’m not Fox News. Google it, gain some insight beyond what your Bishop told you (Bishops aren’t always right you know) and get your kids (and yourself) vaccinated. Thank you. 🙂
Since the Author is DILLWEED PARENT, let’s assume that he or she is an actual TRUE DILLWEED (hopefully not a parent) and being facetious.
Let’s face it, it’s probably the resident troll Koolaide (well, seems like this website is unfortunately, smattered with trolls!)
Simone, you’re a moron if you think LDS bishops counsel people to not get vaccines (or the LDS church for that matter.)
The LDS Church is actually very pro-vaccine and promotes and pays for a lot of vaccinations in 3rd world countries. That fact ticks off a lot of members that are anti-vaccine. I personally don’t trust vaccines and don’t get them (as an adult, like flu vaccines), but thinking 1 in 150 kids that get vaccinated being autistic is worse than 1 in 3 kids dying from a horrible disease is ludicrous. Vaccinations in 3rd world countries save literally millions of lives. That doesn’t mean all vaccinations are good, but its ignorant to think they’re all bad.
I never specifically mentioned any church in my post. There are Bishops in lots of churches, not just the Mormon one. Thanks for jumping to a conclusion though. 🙂
Dillweed Parent, VERY aptly named.
Don’t thank me. Your refusal to vaccinate is endangering your own kids and everyone who comes in contact with them, and there’s no link between vaccines and autism.
It is really a nice and useful piece of information. I’m glad that you shared this helpful information with us. Please keep us up to date like this. Thanks for sharing.
I sincerely hope that everyone knows what I posted was satiracle of common, uneducated beliefs about vaccinations.
