WASHINGTON CITY – A 42-year-old man was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center Saturday night after he collided with a tractor in Washington Fields while riding a skateboard.
Just before 8 p.m., in the area of Camino Real and Silver Falls Drive in Washington Fields, the man was riding a skateboard when he crashed into the back tire of a tractor that was towing a farm instrument.
“Then he kind of collided with the farm instrument that was being towed,” Washington City Police Department Public Information Officer Ed Kantor said.
Washington City Police, Washington City Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the scene. The skateboarder was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center to be treated for lacerations and to be evaluated for further injuries.
As of this publication, no citations have been issued in connection with the incident.
“It’s still under investigation,” Kantor said. “There’s been no enforcement action as of yet.”
Kantor said information is not currently available regarding whether the skateboarder was wearing a helmet and protective pads at the time of the incident.
“On a skateboard, you don’t stand much of a chance against a motor vehicle, so it’s a good reminder to skateboard where it’s appropriate to do so and stay out of traffic,” Kantor said.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

We drove past this scene. Four Washington City police cars the big rig fire truck and the ambulance. .. really? You would have thought there was another shooting.
what number of emergency personell do you guess is adequate when trying to protect an injured person while investigating what happened? just 1 unless it is your family I am sure.
I hope the tractor is okay
42 and skateboarding? Is that considered a midlife crisis?
Only in the land where girls are expected to get married and have babies right out of high school.
Odd in Utah, for sure. Most other places, not really. I still skate and I’m 30. Great exercise…well, if you’re not running into tractors all the time.
A farm instrument???? What is that? A cow bell.
We need more cowbell
Yes, MORE COWBELL!!!
Does anybody know who was on the skateboard? I live on that street and I think it’s my neighbor but I’m not sure.
Yes, I know who it was
tractor=1 skateboarder=0
So essentially the skateboarder rear ended the tractor ?
Sounds like the old dude needs to practice AWAY from traffic !
