SAN JUAN COUNTY – A helicopter, owned by Minute Man Aviation, crashed near the Anticline Overlook area in Lockhart Basin Thursday in northern San Juan County.
The crash, which took place at about 11:30 a.m., was not severe and it is believed that the pilot, who was the sole occupant, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, according to a press release from the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office. The helicopter did not come apart or catch fire.
A separate helicopter was in the area and was able to transport the pilot to Allen Memorial Hospital in Moab. At this time, it is unknown what caused the accident. The helicopters were in the area doing survey work and were contracted by Greenriver Energy.
