News short: Naked man arrested by police

ST. GEORGE – Police responded Friday afternoon to reports of an allegedly naked man in front of a business on 500 East in St. George.

A naked individual was seen in front of Desert Rose Floral, 70 North 500 East, urinating in front of a tree, St. George Police Sgt. Sam Despain said.

Officers responded to the scene and encountered the unclothed man, identified as 50-year-old Bruce Stucki, and took him into custody.

“We believe alcohol was a factor in this incident,” Despain said.

Stucki faces potential charges of lewdness and public intoxication in relation to the incident.

As of 5:55 p.m., charges had not yet been filed against Stucki, according to bookings information from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

Ed. Note: The address of the incident has been corrected.

“70 North 500 South, ” Now that would be a very hard address to find. Even in St. George.

Correct. The error has been fixed. If I ever give you directions in person, I recommend getting a second opinion.

I’m starting to think I should give relative locations by landmarks. It might be safer than my attempts to put actual addresses in print.

We do strive to get things accurate, but as this cases illustrates, it doesn’t always happen the first time around.
