ST. GEORGE – A home compliance check by Adult Probation and Parole agents Wednesday resulted in a child endangerment and drug arrest.
During the visit to 29-year-old parolee William Edward Gholdston’s home in St. George, agents discovered heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Adult Probation and Parole Officer Alan Dressler said in his probable cause statement supporting the arrest.
“A juvenile was located in the home and in the presence of the odor of marijuana,” Dressler wrote in the statement. “William admitted to using heroin and marijuana and stated all of the drug and drug paraphernalia located in the home was his.”
Gholdston was arrested and charged with one second-degree felony for drug possession, one third-degree felony for child endangerment and three class A misdemeanors for drug possession and paraphernalia.
The drug charges were enhanced one degree due to the presence of the juvenile.
Gholdston was booked into the Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility on Wednesday. His bail is set at $20,829.
Gholdston is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Thursday.
Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

Dang. He would have been better off leaving the kid to die in a hot car. Those kind of sleep deprived people don’t get charged by Belnap.

I have a feeling if the baby incident would have happened before the election there would have been a much different outcome. I think it’s time to organize a recall election to recall Belnap and replace him.
Does he have sole custody? If not, the mother should be charged as well. If she is stupid enough to let the idiot with a drug problem around her child, then maybe that child needs to be removed while they both go to jail.
