Myrtle Ann Scott Black, 73, returned to her heavenly father on August 31, 2014. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 4, 1941, to Ray Scott and Gladys Clegg. After the passing of her father, her mother married James Irvin Callaway whom she always considered as her dad. On July 22, 1972, she married Gerald Charles Black in Bakersfield, Calif.; the marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. She was best known for cake decoration and for the Party Shop, as well as her friendly nature.
She is survived by her children: Kelly (Steve) Johnson of Leeds, Utah, Jim (Sarah), Lonie Black and Cezanne Pellett of St. George Utah; grandchildren: Jeffrey (Ico) Johnson of Manila, Philippines, Cory (Mindy) Johnson of Ivins, Utah, Megan Johnson, Adric and Liam Pellett and Lauren Black of St. George, UT; brother: Gary (Susan) Callaway; and “adopted” child, Jannell Medigovich. She was preceded in death by her father, dad, mother, sisters Joan Eddy and Linda Marden, and brother Jim Callaway.
- Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. at the St. George LDS Stake Center, 591 West 500 North, St. George, Utah.
- Visiting with the family and viewing of photos will be held Saturday, Sept. 6 from 9-10 a.m. prior to the services.
