William Kay Briggs Jr.

Briggs, Bill(October 2, 1952-August 27, 2014)

William Kay Briggs Jr. “Billy” passed away August 27, 2014 at the Kolob Care Center. He was born in Maywood, California,  October 2, 1952, to Ellen Blazzard Turnbeaugh Briggs and William Kay Briggs Sr. who soon moved to St. George where Bill lived his entire life in his beloved Dixie.  He was preceded in death by both parents.

Bill entered life with some significant challenges having Klinefelter syndrome but always had a happy outlook on life and had a habit of complimenting people and expressing his appreciation.  He was an excellent chess player, archer and liked the card game Magic and watching Me TV. He had the distinction of being 4’9” in high school and showing up to his first reunion at 6’ 4”.  He loved and missed his parents.  He talked of the times his dad took him on the road as a truck driver and loved his mother’s cooking and care. In his later years he loved his cousins, those who took care of him and helped him out and also his friends at Rosecrest Manor and Bloomington Hills 1st ward. He talked about how much he enjoyed serving in an Elders Quorum presidency and being endowed in the temple.  He enjoyed getting out to Special Needs Mutual and the Senior Center. All were better off having known him.

Funeral Services

  • A graveside service will be Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 3:30 p.m. at the North side of the downtown St. George City Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, St. George, 435-673-2454. Family and friends are invited to sign his online guestbook.
