WASHINGTON CITY – When heavy torrential rains hit Washington City Aug. 18, localized flooding occurred throughout the city, damaging homes and property. The city invites everyone to come together Wednesday, from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Washington City Community Center, for a fundraising benefit for the families affected by the flooding.
With a donation, those participating will receive admission to all areas of the community center, including the pool and rockwall, along with a hot dog dinner while provisions last. All donations will go directly to the affected families.
Organizers are also collecting gift cards, services, cash and other donations for a silent auction to be held at Wednesday’s benefit to help raise funds.
“Communities are built on citizens helping each other,” the Washington City website states. “We appreciate the service that has been given and hope you can support your community in this effort.”

Is this still going on? Or should we just fill sand bags to line Main Street!
Perfect timing! The city can kill two birds with one stone and also address any flood issues stemming from the Aug 26th storm as well, LOL!
