Corrine ‘Cody’ Labrum Cottam

(December 1, 1941 – August, 13, 2014)

Corrine “Cody” Labrum Cottam, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014, in St. George, Utah.

Cody was born on December 1, 1941, in El Paso, Texas. She was born to Jack and Lucy Williams. She was raised in Willcox, Arizona, where her father Jack was a rancher. Cody’s Dad had her horseback and barrel racing ‘as soon as she could hold on’. She was an avid and accomplished horsewoman. She won many awards including Ms. Arizona Rodeo Queen and BYU Rodeo Queen.

Her family later moved to Kanosh, Utah. She started her nursing education at BYU and then finished at Holy Cross Hospital. While at Holy Cross she married Ken Labrum and they later divorced in 1972. She married Brent Cottam and has lived most of her life in St. George.

Cody worked for many years as a nurse for Dr. Fawson, Dr. Stucki and Dr. Christian. She adored her patients and will be remembered for her beautiful smile, compassion and kindness.

Cody was a devout member of the LDS Church. She had many callings, but loved her work in the temple. As an accomplished pianist and choir member she was also especially proud of her music.

She is survived by her husband, Brent Cottam; children, Richard, Robert and Cynthia; step-children, Bradley (Terri), Scott (Cami) and brother, John (Marva) Williams.

Cody is preceded in death by her parents, John ‘Jack’ and Lucille Williams.

Funeral Services

  • Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 18, at 1 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff Street, St. George, Utah
  • A visitation will be held Monday, Aug. 18, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. prior to services
  • Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery
