Boyd Lynn Reeves

(June 3, 1929 – August 8, 2014)

Boyd Lynn Reeves, age 85, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2014 at the Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George. He was born June 3, 1929 in Kanarraville, Utah to Lynn and Ella Batty Reeves. He attended schools in Kanarraville and Cedar City. He served in the New England LDS Mission, where he met his future wife, Clara May Forsgren. They were married on October 13, 1961 in the Logan LDS Temple.

Boyd worked as a produce manager for Safeway Stores in Ely, Nevada and St. George and as an office manager at Larkin Business Services in St. George. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings, including bishop. He was a very talented pianist and organist and shared his music with countless people throughout the years. Boyd was a kind and gentle man. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and he will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Clara, of St. George; one daughter, Nevon (Kraig) Paxman of Layton; three sons, Curtis F. (Lisa Ann) Reeves of Selah, Washington, Leslie F. (Sharon) Reeves of Layton and Corey F. (Valerie) Reeves of St. George; ten grandchildren; one sister, Verna Hinton of Las Vegas; two brothers, Devon (Faith) Reeves of Santa Clara and Evan (Lois) Reeves of Escalante. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Leon Reeves and Randell Dockstader and his sister, Faedona Abelhouzen.

Funeral Services

  • Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m. at the St. George LDS East Stake Center, 449 South 300 East, St. George, Utah.
  • Visitations will be held Wednesday, Aug. 13 from 6-8 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd, St. George, Utah and on Thursday, Aug. 14, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to services.
  • Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery.
