The St. George Communications Center received reports of the accident at 8:32 p.m. St. George Police officers, St. George Fire and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the scene, where the Escalade, which had been waiting at a stop sign on 1100 East, had turned left in front of the Tundra, which was traveling westbound on Riverside Drive in the outside lane. The driver of the Tundra hit the brakes but didn’t have time to stop and collided with the Escalade, St. George Police Sgt. David Williams said.

“Traffic was affected because both vehicles were disabled from the accident, had to be towed from the scene,” Williams said. “So it blocked off the majority of westbound traffic on Riverside Drive.”

Two people complained of minor injuries and were treated at the scene, but nobody was transported to the hospital as a result of the accident, Williams said.

“There were minor injuries on scene, bumps and bruises,” he said.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene, and the driver of the Escalade was cited.

Traffic was reopened on Riverside Drive at about 9:19 p.m.

“There was a little bit of backup, but everybody was pretty patient,” Williams said.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

Another stupid avoidable crash, people in overpriced Tahoes always seem to think we should drive around them.

Mark would be wise that when you call something stupid you should at least know the facts and have read the article. Tahoes aren’t Escalades, but thanks for playing!

You are correct, the Tahoe has one more cup holder than the Escalade.

Actually, Escalades are Tahoes that cost more because they have a $20,000 emblem that says Escalade.

From the photos it looks like the family friendly Suburbilade as opposed to the more cargo friendly Cadillanche.
