ST. GEORGE — Two people were taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after a car crash on Bluff Street, which slowed traffic for about 30 minutes near Smith’s Food and Drug.
At approximately 1:20 p.m., the accident was reported and emergency responders arrived shortly thereafter to find a Nissan passenger car and a GMC Denali both with front-end damage. The drivers of both vehicles were wearing their seat belts, but were both transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center, St. George Police Officer Jamison Hale said. Hale did not know the extent of the injuries at the time, he said.
The Nissan was stopped at the stop sign where Tabernacle Street joins Bluff Street, Hale said. The driver of the Nissan turned north onto Bluff Street when the Denali, which was traveling north on Bluff, collided with the Nissan.
The driver of the Nissan was cited for failure to yield, Hale said.
There were no passengers in either car, and there were no other vehicles involved in the accident.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene and traffic was flowing again by 1:50 p.m.
Members of the St. George Police, St. George Fire, and Gold Cross Ambulance all assisted with the accident.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by responders on scene and may not contain the full scope of findings.

IT’S HARD TO JUDGE A SAFE TURN THERE WHEN PEOPLE ARE GOING 60MPH!!!
bob get a job and stop spending time with your unwanted comments. you dont need to comment on every single accident that has happened. youre just plain RUDE
I WONDER IF THE PERSON IN THE SUV EVEN TAPPED THE BRAKE
Hey BOB have some flippin simpathy. As busy as that road is it’s hard to believe somebody would be going 60 MPH. And im sure she would’ve TAPPED the brakes if she had enough time to. People aren’t stupid it’s not like they want to get into accidents. Right? Think of the people in the accident before you have to put in your unwanted 2 cents.
People aren’t stupid, and don’t want to get into accidents? Where the heck do you come up with that? You ever drive in St. George?
Still crying about being fired from Big O huh BOB?
hey she was going 35 miles a hour and didn’t have time to tap her brake when the car slammed into her the car pulled out into the the far lane instead of the close lane …. shes the one who got the ticket not the SUV!

You are repeating yourself here. Perhaps you are one of the stupid ones?
im actually NOT stupid it said it the comment failed SO I COMMENTED AGAIN GOSH DANG IGNORANT PERSON.
Um hi BOB! The person in the SUV was ME and I didn’t have time to TAP my break. I am so sorry. But just so you get your story CORRECT I was going the speed limit and I was not in the wrong. I didn’t get cited. Hope this never happens to you and I am just very thankful that everyone is okay. Maybe you should count your own blessings ROBERT!
What it sounds like to me, Sheila, is that you were not in the wrong. It was the idiot that pulled out in front of you. Happens every day, numerous times a day. I guess today was just your unlucky day. . .Glad you were not badly hurt!
Wow! 1st time I recall the driver that was involved in the accident has commented. Did the person cut across to the outside lane in front of you instead of using the lane closest to them? I find alot of people doing that. It’s annoying.
I’VE LIVED IN A FEW MAJOR CITIES OVER 1 MILLION AND NEVER ENCOUNTERED THE AMOUNT OF …* DRIVERS THAT I HAVE IN THIS TOWN. IT’S RIDICULOUS REALLY. DRIVING COURTEOUSLY WAS OBVIOUSLY NEVER TAUGHT TO A LOT OF THE IDIOTS DRIVING AROUND HERE. AND I’M GLAD YOU WEREN’T GOING 60 THERE BUT THERE’S PLENTY OF IDIOTS WHO DO…
Ed. ellipsis: …*
God bless all involved
Time for Bob’s pills again!
Hey Bob’s buddy, you are the total ignorant moron here! Have you ever read the 12 fallacies that common people thing about? If not, I would highly recommend you and the other speeders in town ready them carefully. Then you just might start driving with caution and consideration for others. Just maybe. And it’s just a thought. I’m not preaching or proselyting to you, but simply making a light-hearted suggestion for your own welfare perhaps. Before you open your mouth about your “buddy” in the SUV,I would strongly suggest setting aside your personal biases, and gathering the most reasonable information that is available. Sound possible? If you’re like most of the reckless speed demons here in St. George, it may be a long shot. But nothing is impossible. So my advice for you is to take a chill pill and get a grip on your emotions for your life’s sake and for others.
Bob… Tsk, tsk… I’m sure no one invited you to our lil town with “idiot” drivers. Remember the highway runs in and out, so if things are that bad and you feel so unsafe here, head on back to you million plus city and enjoy! I happen to know the driver of the SUV and you really stomped on your junk by making that comment!
Hey Jon, now that isn’t very nice. You could have told him “The bus leaves at noon. Be UNDER it!” D)
OK, here’s some solutions to traffic problems here in So. Utah.
1. Take the SUV car keys from every women driver. No EXCEPTIONS.
2. BOB,, take your butt back to So. California where you can sit and think for a couple hours each day in backed up freeway traffic. There you can complain about the idiot in front of you that keeps taping her dang brake petal, over and over again.
3. After every fender bender you have, expect your insurance to increase by 25%
(note) These suggestions brought to you by a lawyer (ambulance chaser) who wants a free E ticket ride on the national politician gravy train.
TAKE THEM FROM WOMAN DRIVERS ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW. how disgusting you are.
I wonder how many “idiot drivers” are “transplants” from out of state. I know my drivers ed teacher was from this general area and he taught me to be a courteous driver. So there is no more petty bickering let’s all of us go back to drivers ed. I know I wouldn’t mind a refresher.
We all have our comments. Be them positive or negative. Lets put all that aside and focus more on being cautious, courteous and safe drivers. Plain and simple. My grandfather was killed in a car accident and even though the other driver was at fault, I have never blamed the other driver involved.. Accidents do happen. Thank you all for your kind words.
