SOUTHERN UTAH – The National Weather Service has issues a “Fire Weather Watch” for early next week for parts of Washington, Iron, and Beaver counties. The watch goes into effect Monday at 12 p.m. and carries through Tuesday at 10 p.m.
Affected area
Parts of Washington, Iron and Beaver counties (see image)
Winds
Southerly winds at 15-25 mph with local gusts over 30 mph will occur each afternoon but will relax Monday night through Tuesday morning.
Relative humidity
Lowering to below 15 percent each afternoon and early evening.
Impacts
Combination of low relative humidity and gusty winds will create hazardous fire weather conditions.
Precautionary, preparedness actions
A Fire Weather Watch means that there is a potential for critical fire weather conditions. Continue to monitor for the latest forecasts and for possible red flag warnings.

And meanwhile, there are still idiots out every night shooting off fireworks–even in residential areas–I understand the city has a “map” of certain areas where fireworks are “allowed” (as if people follow them??) but if you look around you still see empty, undeveloped lots with dry weeds on them, or large yards in those residential areas with any number of things that could catch fire. This is so ridiculous!
