ST. GEORGE — The Thunder Over Utah Air Show will soar into St. George July 25-27, and volunteers are needed to help at the event.
Boys Scouts in particular are being sought as volunteers, as a portion of proceeds from program sales will benefit the Boy Scouts of America. Approximately 80 kids are needed to help out each day of the event to assist EAA Southern Utah Chapter 936, the local chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association, sell programs at the show. Volunteers are needed for 40 minutes on Saturday and 30 minutes on Sunday.
Older teenagers are also needed to manage lemonade stands. If interested in volunteering, contact Dave Peterson at 435-813-2252.
“This is meant to be a recreational event that teaches kids about volunteerism but also opens their eyes to other exciting career options,” Patrick Carroll, EAA Chapter 936 president, said.
Tickets purchased using a special BSA promotional code will be discounted by $5 per ticket, according to information from EAA Chapter 936. To use the promo code, enter BSA and then the troop number with no space in between. For example, for troop 936 use promo code BSA936.
At the air show, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will make their second St. George appearance at the St. George Municipal Airport.
The Blue Angels will be joined by the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, the P-51 Red Tail Squadron, Matt Younkin, the Jet School Bus, classic military aircraft and more.
Tickets in the tented premium seating areas have sold out for Saturday, July 26, and there are limited seats remaining for Sunday’s show. General admission tickets are still available for both days.
Friday Night Preview Party
Kick off air show weekend on Friday, July 25, and get an exclusive sneak peek during the Friday night preview party, where some of the Thunder Over Utah performers will show their stuff, including the U.S. Army Golden Knights, Matt Younkin, the School Time Jet Bus and others. Live music will be provided by the Lawn Darts. Please note that the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will not be performing at the Friday Night Preview Party.
Bomber Club
The Bomber Club is a spacious tented area where guests can enjoy some shade and have access to tables and chairs for relaxation. Bomber Club patrons will enjoy complimentary beverages (nonalcoholic) all day and have access to nonpublic portable washrooms. The Bomber Club chalet includes premium outdoor seating along the flight line.
A Bomber Club ticket does not include air show admission or parking; those tickets must be purchased separately. Limited seating is available.
Fighter Club
Enjoy Thunder Over Utah by spending the day at the Fighter club. Enjoy the festive atmosphere and entertainment while attending the air show in this premium chalet. Bring the whole family and enjoy a catered buffet-style lunch, served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., and complimentary beverages (nonalcoholic) all day, along with access to nonpublic portable washrooms. The Fighter Club chalet includes premium outdoor seating along the flight line.
A Fighter Club ticket does not include air show admission or parking; those tickets must be purchased separately. Limited seating is available.

Be sure to tell those Boy Scouts that they will be assisting an event for a military that allows homosexuals to serve openly and proudly even though their own organization doesn’t. Make sure you tell them that gay & lesbian people are serving (and have served…and many have died) to protect their freedom to be bigots.

Where we have the freedom to be bigoted or gay, or both. I’m all for gay equality, so my kids would simply join a different club.
I agree! Gay people do serve and die for our country but do we really need to teach kids (boy scouts) about other peoples sexuality?? Aren’t the men and women who serve this country brave soldiers? or do we need to say…Sgt. John Smith paratrooper and homosexual or Sgt Suzie walker, green beret and heterosexual? Lets just teach our kids to be proud and respectful of those who serve our country and leave their sexuality to them.
Such a negative comment to make..if you dint agree then don’t support the event..the MILITARY defends our country to have the right to make choices. Sexual orientation has nothing to do with it. It’s not the gay armed forces or the straight armed forces it’s the United States armed forces!

What time the air show being on those day’s. I’m going Sunday July 27. How early do I need to get there to get good seats?
A simple story on an air show and some pro-gay enthusiasts have to throw their beliefs out there because they will not be happy until everyone in the country is wearing a gay pride rainbow, sticker, or whatever. This story is about an air show, not gays.
