ST. GEORGE – The heart-pounding excitement and breathtaking red rock scenery of this year’s Ironman 70.3 St. George U.S. Pro Championship can now be experienced online and on television stations across the country.
The St. George Convention and Tourism Office announced today the nationwide release of an action-packed television program highlighting the May 3 triathlon that took athletes through one of the most beautiful yet brutal courses in the Ironman 70.3 circuit.
In fact, after winning the men’s race, German Olympic gold medalist Jan Frodeno exclaimed: “I’ll be honest, that was probably the toughest thing I’ve ever done.”
The TV program follows Olympians and world champions as they battle it out during a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride and 13.1-mile run. The race features more than 2,000 professional and amateur athletes representing 25 countries and some of the biggest names in the sport.
“Ironman athletes love St. George for its epic course and the intense rivalry,” said Tourism Office Director Roxie Sherwin. “Audience members will be enthralled as they watch these world-class athletes push themselves to the limit.”
Taking place in the shadows of renowned Zion National Park and through the heart of multi-colored Snow Canyon State Park, the St. George Ironman gives viewers an up-close journey through one of the world’s most celebrated wilderness areas.

“The Southern Utah landscape alone is enough for a television program,” said Kevin Lewis, director of sports marketing for the tourism office. “But when you add one of the most competitive lineups of professional triathletes, this Ironman special really is must-see TV.”
The high-definition, half-hour program titled “2014 Ironman 70.3 St. George U.S. Pro Championship” is available to view for free online and through syndication on more than 120 broadcast and cable television stations reaching viewers in nearly every city from New York to L.A.
