Forbes, Raymond Obit2(August 17, 1942 – June 5, 2014)

St. George Utah, Raymond Taylor Forbes, 71, passed away on June 5th 2014 at DRMC.  He was surrounded by his family. He was born on August 17, 1942 in Banning California to William Joseph Forbes and Ramona Bryant Forbes.  He married Shirley Ann Adams and later divorced. He then married Brenda Elvira Forbes on March 30, 1980 in Las Vegas Nevada, later solemnized in the St. George Temple.

Forbes, Raymond YRay was raised in St. George Utah and attended Dixie State College.  He was a welder by trade and owned Forbes Welding & Fabrication in St. George, Utah.  He loved spending time with his family, traveling with his wife, and serving others.  He was the family handyman and created many beautiful creations for his family.  He loved to garden, go camping and play with his dogs Sadie and Cooper.

He is survived by his wife Brenda (St. George), children, Colette (Shane) Garett, Heather (Kenny) Kunde, Staycha (Steve) Lee, Emily (Bruce) Henderson, and Raymond Taylor Forbes, Jr.; 19 grandchildren; his brother, William James Forbes and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services

  • Funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 10, at the Green Valley Chapel 124 N. Valley View Drive, St. George, Utah.
  • Viewings will be held on Monday, June 9, from 6-8 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary 110 S. Bluff St. St George UT and Tuesday, June 10 from 12:30-1:30 p.m., prior to funeral services.
  • Internment will take place at the Tonaquint Cemetery in St. George UT.
