Hatch: Administration is more focused on catering to its political allies than doing what’s best for hardworking Americans

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch issued the following statement Monday criticizing a proposed rule announced Monday by the Obama Administration that will force power plants to cut carbon emissions:

Make no mistake – this proposed cap-and-trade rule will kill jobs, increase energy costs, and make it even more difficult for hardworking families to make ends meet. So it’s no surprise that the proposal is opposed by Republicans and many Democrats alike. Despite a sluggish economy with millions of Americans out of work and families struggling to pay their bills, President Obama and his extreme environmentalist allies continue to push a national energy tax that even the President has conceded would cause energy costs to ‘skyrocket.’ Even though Congress refused to give the Obama administration authority to pursue this radical policy, the President is once again taking unilateral executive action to implement this misguided and unpopular approach. Americans deserve an energy policy that helps grow our economy and create jobs here at home, but whether it’s standing in the way of the Keystone XL pipeline project or putting forward job-destroying policies like the proposed rule announced today, the Obama Administration just doesn’t seem to get it. This rule is yet another example that the administration is more focused on catering to its political allies than doing what’s best for hardworking Americans.

Cap and trade is a massive scam. It won’t actually reduce emissions, it will just make hypocritical scum like al gore rich as they move around numbers, stir up the sheeple, and make ridiculous statements while flying around on private jets and living in huge mansions.

I’m starting to feel nauseated everytime I see the phrase “hardworking Americans.” You want hard work? Look for a Latino.

Oh Orrin, have all the years on you made you forget your personal history? Your fierce objections in 1990-1991 to the Clean Air Act, which you ultimately voted for in a classic flip-flop? Boy howdy, it sure did destroy the oil and coal business, right? And the automobile industry as well? And now the same dire predictions once again? Sorry, Chicken Little, some of us aren’t buying it.
