CEDAR CITY – The Chamber of Commerce Business Expo, presented by CML Metals, kicked off in Main Street Park Friday and continues on Saturday.

“The mission of the chamber is to build and promote a pro-business economy and a pro-business community,” Scott Jolley, president and CEO of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce, said. “This is a great way to provide a venue in which we can help businesses meet consumers that otherwise they may not have met.”

A total of 45 businesses have booths showcasing their goods and services and what they bring to the community.

Admission is free and all are welcome to attend. Free inflatables and bounce houses for kids are provided by Funtime Inflatables.

“They can come play. Parents can wander around and look at the booths and see what Cedar has to offer,” Rick Bryant, owner of Funtime Inflatables, said.

Jolley said the expo is a great way to meet business owners and an opportunity to see what promotions they’re offering.

A lot of times people aren’t sure exactly what Cedar has,” Deniece Allred, office manager for the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce, said, and this is the chamber’s opportunity to showcase their businesses and let the community know what Cedar has to offer.”

A 10-punch card can be acquired at the expo, and attendees can obtain punches on their cards by visiting booths. When punch cards are full they can be turned into the Chamber of Commerce for a drawing to win an iPad mini and a barbecue grill. The drawing will take place Saturday night.

The expo will also have a balloon drop for kids to win prizes.

“Each of the businesses are doing door prizes and they’ve donated some to us, as well, like gift cards,” Allred said.

Actually it appears that the mission of the Chamber of Commerce is to get amnesty for illegal aliens. If it is not, so some of their chapters better speak up, for the national chapter is spending a lot of you money to do so.
