ST. GEORGE – Dixie State University announced earlier this month that it has received a $30,000 Daniels Fund grant to support needs-based scholarships at the university. The scholarship monies will provide “Boundless Opportunity Scholarships” to nontraditional students from all walks of life.
The needs-based scholarships funded by this grant target candidates from specific student populations, including adult learners, GED recipients, foster care youth, juvenile justice youth, returning military personnel, individuals pursuing EMT/paramedic training and individuals pursuing early childhood education certification.
Boundless Opportunity Scholarships help highly motivated students achieve their goals by providing financial assistance toward a better education and a better life for them and their families.
“Boundless Opportunity Scholarships are intended to benefit nontraditional students seeking the economic and social benefits of a college education,” said Linda Childears, president and CEO of Daniels Fund.
“Funding needs-based scholarships continues to be a priority here at Dixie State University,” said Brad Last, DSU vice president of development. “Providing opportunities to all students to reach their goals and dreams of a college education has been the hallmark of Dixie State’s mission. We are grateful to the Daniels Fund for its generosity, and we value the relationship Dixie State has with the organization.”
