WASHINGTON CITY – A woman driving a sedan was cited Tuesday night for failure to yield near the intersection of North 3050 East and Red Cliffs Drive in Washington City.
The woman was attempting to travel from the parking lot of Hart’s Gas & Food in Washington City to the parking lot of the Sinclair gas station across the street when she collided with another sedan, Ed Kantor, Washington City Police Department public information officer, said.
“She failed to yield to a westbound vehicle,” Kantor said.
Sarafina Amodt, who works in the nearby Quality Inn, witnessed the accident.
“I heard screeching and I looked up and saw the collision,” she said.
Amodt said she heard other vehicles honking at the traffic blockage caused by the two sedans, then three police vehicles, an ambulance and a Washington City Fire Department truck arrived on the scene shortly after that.
“I think they were right on the corner, because the police showed up like two minutes after it happened,” Amodt said.
Kantor said the accident was a minor fender-bender; there were no injuries and no one was transported to the hospital, he said.
Amodt said the ambulance drove away quietly and the accident was cleared up within 10-15 minutes.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by the police and may not contain the full scope of findings.
