ST. GEORGE – Smoke rose from the parking lot of a Fabulous Freddy’s car wash in St. George when a vehicle fire occurred Monday morning.
After 11 a.m., a truck that was pulled into Fabulous Freddy’s parking lot on 100 South started smoking and caught fire, St. George Fire Capt. Sam Larson said.
The truck had apparently shut off, and when the driver attempted to switch it back on, it backfired, and that’s when it started to smoke from under the hood. The driver was able to move the truck away from the gas pumps before abandoning it.
Individuals at the scene began to spray the truck down with fire extinguishers. At one point the truck’s horn went off as smoke enveloped the interior. The truck slowly rolled to the edge of the parking lot before coming to a final stop.
A fire engine arrived on the scene and firefighters quickly put out the fire. No one was harmed in the fire, though the truck appears to be a total loss.
This report is based on preliminary information derived from emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

IS THIS a coincidence? On Saturday afternoon 5/17 my daughter had her oil changed & battery. tires etc looked at, (at Fabulous Freddy’s), she did not drive the car again until Sunday, which is when her car caught fire! Las Vegas Fire Dept was called to put out the raging fire!
They don’t do oil changes at that store. They only have a wash and gas.
that what i thought. maybe Slick Willies or Oil Can Henry’s? I dont remember for sure if we have both of those.
Not sure what you’re looking for, lp, but we published a report on Slick Willey’s. Here you go:
