Street SK8 Competition ’14 tears up St. George

ST. GEORGE – Saturday, the City of St. George and Lip Trix Board Shop will host Street SK8 Competition ’14, which will feature four competitive skateboarding divisions based on age group. The competition will take place at the St. George Skate Park, located at 171 E. 1160 South.

Age group divisions for the competition will be 8 years old and younger, 9–12 years old, 13 -15 years old, and 16 years old and up. All participants must wear a helmet; knee pads and elbow pads are optional.

“We have had around 60 competitors in the past,” said Kristian Ripplinger, of Lip Trix Board Shop. “The event starts at 10 a.m. with the under 8 division and moves up from there. Individuals under the age of 18 must have a parent with them to register.”

Pre-registration for the competition is $15 and closes Friday. Competitors can preregister at Lip Trix, 105 N. 500 East in St. George. Day-of registration is $25 at the event.
