ST. GEORGE – Just before 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening, St. George Police and the St. George Fire Department responded to a report of an accident at the intersection of Valley View Drive and Sunset Boulevard in St. George, where a blue Pontiac Vibe had collided with a white Mercury Grand Marquis.
The accident caused lanes of traffic on both Valley View Drive and Sunset Boulevard to be blocked for a short time. Emergency crews were able to get the damaged vehicles and debris cleared out of the roadway within about 10 minutes.
Officers at the scene concluded that the white Grand Marquis was turning southbound on Valley View Drive from Sunset Boulevard while the blue Pontiac Vibe was traveling eastbound on Sunset, crossing Valley View, when the accident occurred. Officers at the scene stated that it is unclear at this time who had the right of way, and the investigation is ongoing.
The drivers of the vehicles sustained very minor injuries, and neither was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center. Both vehicles, after being removed from the roadway, were disabled and had to be towed.
