HURRICANE — Not many medals were handed out on the first day of the Region 9 track meet at Hurrricane High Wednesday, but athletes from southern Utah battled the wind and light rain to try and get qualified for the region finals and get a time or distance good enough to get them into the state track meet next week at BYU.

STGNews staff photographer Dave Amodt was there to capture some of the action from the exciting event. Look for a full write-up of the event following Thursday’s finals.
