SOUTHERN UTAH – Brian Head Resort will be celebrating its upcoming 50th anniversary and retirement of the Giant Steps lift, Brian Head’s “Chair Two,” Saturday. Lift tickets will be available at the discounted price of $19.64 on Saturday and Sunday, in commemoration of the resort’s opening year, 1964.
The Giant Steps lift has been at Brian Head Resort for over 30 years and will be replaced with a high-speed detachable quad chairlift. When the resort opened in 1964 it had one chairlift, now it has eight.
Those looking to enjoy the Giant Steps lift one last time are welcomed to ride the last chair at 4 p.m. The event, with photo opportunites at the top, is open for all to attend with the purchase of a lift ticket.
“To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the best skiing in Southern Utah, there is no better way to do so than with the installation of a high-speed quad,” Josh Madsen, sales and marketing coordinator at Brian Head Resort said.
The installation of the new high-speed quad chairlift will begin after the winter season ends on Sunday.
