HURRICANE CITY – The passenger in a car accident yesterday in Hurricane City has passed away from injuries she sustained during the accident. Her name was released today by the Hurricane City Police Department.
Mary Sandra Wilcox, 81, and her husband were traveling in the maroon Honda Accord, with Mary Wilcox in the passenger seat when the accident happened at the intersection of 2260 W. State Street in Hurricane.
“This is a very unfortunate situation, our hearts are with the families who have lost a loved one and to all those who were involved,” Hurricane City Police Sgt. Brandon Buell said in a press release statement.
Witness accounts and a police investigation indicated that one of the other drivers, in a red Mazda, failed to stop at the red light when entering the intersection. A citation was issued.

How sad. My thoughts are with the family.
Very sad indeed. Why isn’t the name of the driver that was cited, published?
you sure like names in the paper. gossip gossip gossip. he/she probably has a lot to deal with for a mistake made.
Accidents happen, people accidently run red lights. The fact that their mistake took someone’s life is most likely devastating to the person who caused this accident. Why do you need their name Evil Twin? Are you really that evil? Will you hunt them down and harass them for an accident? You have issues.
Whatever you guys think there. . .Having your name, and maybe even your picture in the paper when you cause an accident, particularly a serious one, just might lead people to think a bit when they drive. That isn’t gossip, it is just common sense.
There are consequences for all of our actions. And quite obviously, there are not serious enough consequences, to make people take responsibility for their actions behind the wheel.
That, Mean Momma, is my main issue.
