Warriors pound Tigers 17-1; Softball roundup

ST. GEORGE — Snow Canyon blasted Hurricane, finishing the game in only four innings on Tuesday, winning 17 – 1. The first inning, Snow Canyon pulled in three runs, taking an early lead. In the second, both teams added one run, Hurricane’s being their only score of the game. The third inning was all Warriors as they added a whopping 10 runs and finished in the fourth inning with an additional three runs.

Snow Canyon ended the match with 13 hits and no errors on the night. Hurricane added one run and had two errors.

The Tigers play next at Desert Hills on April Fools’ Day at 4 p.m. The Warriors will take on the Flyers next at Dixie High on Friday at 4 p.m.

Cedar 18, Desert Hills 6

cedar-smDesert-Hills-smThe Redmen started the game off with a bang, anchoring in five runs in the first inning and allowing none from the Thunder. The second brought in two more runs for Cedar, giving them a strong lead of 7-0. Desert Hills responded in the third and fourth innings. During these innings, the Thunder brought in five runs and only allowed two for the Redmen, but in the end the response wasn’t enough. The game finished after six innings with Cedar winning 18-6. Bringing home the win was Cedar pitcher Marinn Whitney.

On Thursday, Cedar plays the Panthers at 4 p.m while Desert Hills will take on Canyon View also at 4 p.m.

Canyon View 8, Pine View 4

canyon-view-smPine-view-smThe Falcons doubled the Panthers  score on Tuesday with an 8-4 win. Canyon View was the only team on the board for the first four innings, putting up five and taking a commanding lead. The Panthers came back in the fifth inning with a renewed determination and put in four runs of their, narrowing the  gap 4-5, Falcons still in the lead. The sixth inning was the last scoring inning and Canyon View took three more home, making the final score Canyon View 8 and Pine View 4.

On the game Kenzie Sawyer for Canyon View hit a home run, while winning pitcher Josie Platt hit a double.

On Thursday, the Panthers will play the Redmen at 4 p.m while Canyon View will take on Desert Hills at 4 p.m.
