ST. GEORGE – SkyWest Airlines will once again raise the checkered flag for charity at the 14th annual Mini Indy to be held at the Ridgetop Complex located at 998 South Airport Road on Friday. Fans are invited to experience the excitement of this race firsthand, complete with a Mobile 1 race car from NASCAR, 30 racing go-carts, and global cuisine.
SkyWest’s Mini Indy brings local, national and international businesses to St. George for a charity event that mixes fun and friendly competition with fundraising. The event will feature a skydiver flag jump, the National Anthem sung by St. George Mayor Jon Pike, and races started by SkyWest president and COO Chip Childs.
Participants from around the world pay participation fees to help offset the costs associated with the event. Additionally, the event receives numerous donations from participating companies/teams and local businesses, some of which sponsor cars in the race.
Since the event’s inception, Mini Indy has helped raise nearly $1 million through generous contributions from its supporters. The event generates funds for United Way Dixie, which in return sustains generous contributions to a number of Washington County-based charitable organizations and community programs.
