Glenn Reed Isom

Isom, Glenn(April 7, 1943 – February 23, 2014)

Glenn Reed Isom of St.George UT age 70 passed away unexpectedly Sunday February 23, 2014. He was born April 7, 1943 in Murry UT to Herbert and Marie Rigtrup Isom.

Reed was a cowboy at heart, raised in Hurricane UT where he graduated from Hurricane High School. Dad married Noreen Spencer and lived most of his life in St.George UT providing for his 3 kids driving truck and teaching us the value of hard word and determination. Dad and Mom later divorced yet remained friends supporting us together.

Dad loved muscle cars and any possible chance to attend a grandchild’s activity. He was so supportive, fun, dedicated, loving, kind, compassionate and authentic in every way. Dad was a member of the SUP, Sons of the Utah Pioneers. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints Dad served faithfully as a temple worker along side his brother Garth and oh how proud he was of this. Being able to share his fun outgoing personality as people showed up to attend the temple here in St.George. Many of you remember Dad in his big red chair cheering for his grandkids at all of their sporting events. We will never forget his enthusiasm for supporting any and all that we had going on. He was so proud of us in every way. Dad really enjoyed his time with his sibling’s, as they would get together often.

Dad was survived by his 3 kids, Brent Isom, Anne (Chad) Gates and Michael (Wendy)Isom of Santa Clara, UT. Brothers Garth (Janice), Larry (Pat) and Dale Isom. His two sisters Jane Raburn, Nina (Hylan) Kirkland, and Doris Isom. Including 8 grandkids Tori (Alex) Hafen (one great grand daughter, Kambree on the way), Mitzi  Gates(currently serving an LDS mission in Nashville TN), Macey Gates(currently serving an LDS mission in Riverside, CA), Kennedy Isom, Sadie Gates, Kaleb Gates, Kadin Isom, Ryker Gates. Dad is proceeded in death by his parents Herbert and Marie Isom, siblings Jon, LuciAnne, Emeron, Bruce Isom, Wilma (Wayne) Beal, and grandchild Kameron Chad Gates.
