Races left for St. George Marathon Runner Series qualification; registration deadlines

SOUTHERN UTAH – If you are participating in the Runner Series for the St. George Marathon there are only two races left to complete your two race requirements with regular registration– The Spectrum 10K on March 15 and the Sand Hollow Aquatic Center Spring Triathlon on April 5.

Late registration is available for the Lake to Lake Team Relay until 1 p.m. on Feb. 26. Click here for details.

The Spectrum 10K

The Spectrum 10K is coming up on March 15. This course includes three miles in Snow Canyon State Park and continues out through city neighborhoods onto the finish at Ivins City Park.

This race has a cap of 800 runners so early registration is recommended. Early registration will be accepted until March 7. Late registration accepted until March 12 for an additional $10 late fee. After March 12 registration is only available at packet pickup for an additional $10 late fee with no t-shirt available.

The SHAC Spring Triathlon

Dust off your bike and break out your suit – swim suit that is. The SHAC Spring Triathlon is coming up on April 5. Beginner & Sprint events are capped at 400 participants.

Early registration will be accepted until March 29 at midnight. Late registration will be available until April 3 at noon with an additional $10 late fee.

Swim Course: The swim will be in the Sand Hallow Aquatic Center indoor pool.

  • Beginner: 8 lengths – 200 yards
  • Sprint: 16 lengths – 400 yards
  • Kids Beginner: 2 lengths – 50 yards
  • Kids Sprint: 4 Lengths – 100 yards

Bike Course: The bike course is an out and back loop course, beginning at the pool and turning around at North Red Mountain Road.

  • Beginner: 1 Loop – 5 miles
  • Sprint: 2 Loops – 10 miles
  • Kids Beginner: 1 mile
  • Kids Sprint: 2 miles

Run Course: The running course is an out and back 1 and 1/2 mile loop. It will follow the bike path North of the pool and East of Lava Flow Drive.

  • Beginner: 1 Loop – 1.5 miles
  • Sprint: 2 Loops – 3 miles
  • Kids Beginner: 1/2 mile
  • Kids Sprint: 3/4 mile

About the Runner Series

Limited to the first 900 runners, the Runner Series offers non-Washington County resident St. George Marathon runners a way to get into the race without going through the lottery. The Runner Series enables runners to run 2 of 8 designated races in Washington County from October through May. A $15 registration fee and completion of the series requirements entitles runners to a guaranteed entrance into the St. George Marathon.
