ST. GEORGE – The police are seeking a person of interest following a gunfire incident that took place Wednesday night.
Around 7:20 p.m., Wednesday, the St. George Police responded to a report of a gunshot in the parking lot of Walgreens at 391 West St. George Blvd., in St. George. On initial statement Wednesday, police said the man shot at did not know the suspect and they had no suspect at the time.
As the investigation developed, the police said Thursday that the gun was discharged in connection with a robbery arising from a pre-arranged meeting between the two men.
“Through the course of the investigation we have learned that the robbery was the result of a pre-arranged meeting between the victim and suspect relating to a drug transaction,” the police said. “The exchange was supposed to have taken place inside a vehicle in the parking lot of Walgreens.”
One of the men in the car had a gun and a struggle resulted, causing the gun to fire. The bullet exited through the car’s rear window and impacted a nearby building. No one was injured.
The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival. The man reportedly shot at is cooperating with police, the statement released Thursday said.
Officers have identified Fred C. Wesberry, 28, of St. George as a person of interest in this case. Wesberry is wanted for questioning in regard to the incident at Walgreens.

Ya, he don’t look like an “illegal”. But, what he did certainly is illegal.
Well, you know, the white folk populace here tends to jump to the conclusion that all crimes are committed by those darn “illegals” where the crimes are actually committed by their very own, some who were born and raised in this town.
Why does this article say police said the man shot did not know the suspect? No one was shot.

This man is an amazing person and just got caught up in the wrong way for a while but he is making his life worth something and has an amazing heart. I know that he his trying his hardest to do the next right thing. Have compassion. It makes you a better person all around.
