Game outlook: This will be the only meeting with arguably Dixie’s biggest rival. The Seasiders perennially lead the conference in scoring and this year is no exception. They get the ball up and down the court quickly. They make substitutions liberally. They have 11 players that average more than 10 minutes per contest. They are led in scoring by reserve Coro. Friel is a consistent shooter who uses his wide frame inside for easy buckets. The Seasiders are one game behind Dixie in fifth place. Dixie sits alone in third place. The outcome of this game will be a determinate for conference-tournament seeding. Dixie State can definitely move past second-place Chaminade by finishing strong and has a remote chance of catching Cal Baptist for the conference season championship.
Women’s Basketball
Dixie State’s women’s basketball team also plays BYU-H this evening. The Lady Storm are 9-11 and 7-7 in conference and the Lady Seasiders are 2-17 and 2-12. Tipoff is at 5 p.m at Burns Arena and is broadcast on 91.3 FM.
