LAVERKIN – A woman was taken to the hospital after her car crashed into a billboard Monday morning.
Around 11:40 a.m., a 60-year-old woman driving northbound at around 200 North State Street lost consciousness and veered across all lanes of traffic. Her car then left the roadway, crashed through a fence, and impacted against a billboard sign pole, LaVerkin Police Detective Travis Romney said.
Emergency responders got the woman out of the wrecked car and she was taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George with non-life threatening injuries, Romney said. A 2-year-old child was also in the car, strapped into a car seat in the back seat. The child was unharmed.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by the authorities and may not contain the full scope of findings.
