LAVERKIN — A tip from Christine Ellen Jolley’s family member resulted in multiple felony charges against her on Tuesday.
Police arrested Jolley, 35 of LaVerkin, and charged her with theft, a third-degree felony; two counts of second-degree felony possession of a controlled substance; one count of permitting a child to be exposed to a controlled substance, a third-degree felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, a class-A misdemeanor and driving on revocation, a class-B misdemeanor.
The drug and child endangerment charges result from about a week-long investigation after suspected methamphetamine and heroin were found by a family member, LaVerkin Police Detective Travis Romney said.
According to the probable cause statement filed in conjunction with the arrest, suspected drugs were found in the pockets of Jolley’s clothing and also in the bedroom where she was sleeping with her two-year-old child.
On Tuesday, police received a report from a neighbor of Jolley’s that a diamond bracelet with an estimated value of $2,400 had come up missing from their home and it was found that Jolley had been a recent visitor to the home.
Police found through pawn shop records that Jolley had pawned the bracelet on Monday.
On Tuesday, at about 3:15 p.m., police stopped Jolley for driving without a valid drivers license at which time she was arrested and booked into Washington County’s Purgatory Correctional Facility, where her bail stands at $31,333.
