News short: I-15 on-ramp at Green Springs Drive closed for repairs

WASHINGTON CITY — Drivers attempting to get on southbound Interstate-15 from the Green Springs on-ramp in Washington City will be detoured today.

The I-15 southbound on-ramp near the intersection where Green Springs Drive, Red Hills Parkway and Buena Vista Boulevard converge is currently blocked, Washington City Police Department public information officer Ed Kantor said. Construction crews are repaving the intersection; repair was needed after some utility work. Also, a section of southbound Green Springs Drive is blocked.

“If (drivers) can avoid the area, that would be best,” Kantor said. “The detour will take them a little bit longer.”

If you need to get on I-15 southbound, the detour will direct you east on Buena Vista Boulevard to Main Street in Washington City, or west on Red Hills Parkway to St. George.

The intersection will likely remain closed for the rest of the day.

    Note to Editor:

Headline is wrong. It’s not the exit that’s closed, it’s the onramp.

Correct, and corrected. Thank you Richard.

I don’t think you can get on the I-15 from Main St in Washington, you’d have to take Buena Vista Blvd well past Main Street, all the way to Washington Pkwy.
