Police respond to suicidal person, close down street

HURRICANE – Hurricane City Police responded to a suicidal person in the area of 200 West in Hurricane Monday morning, blocking off the street for some time.

The police did not go into detail regarding the event, but confirmed that around 9:30 a.m., an individual in the area of 200 West experienced an adverse reaction to medications and became suicidal. The surrounding area was blocked to traffic as a precaution while police dealt with the situation, Hurricane City Police Sgt. Brandon Buell said.

The situation ultimately came to an end and the suicidal subject was taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center for treatment, Buell said.
