ST. GEORGE – A passenger car was engulfed in flames on Windsor Drive in St. George Monday morning. The St. George Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire, the cause of which remains unknown at this time.
The fire department responded to the car fire around 11:30 a.m. The fire crew is not certain what triggered the fire, St. George Fire Capt. Jason Whipple said. The car’s owner told firefighters the car was driving fine and he hadn’t had any work on it done lately.
“The car had been driven moments before the fire,” Whipple said. The vehicle showed no indication that a fire was about to ignite underneath the hood, he said.
The owner had parked on the side of the road and gone inside a residence. A moment later a neighbor was banging on the door of the residence to alert the car’s owner about the fire.
It is sometimes harder to determine the cause of a car fire versus that of a structure fire, Whipple said.
“It’s hard to read (heat) patterns off of vehicles because they are so compact,” he said. In a structure fire the heat patterns that trigger fires are easier to identify because they’re more spread out.
In the car, just about anything in it can give off a heart pattern, from all that is in the engine block to the tires.
No one was injured in the fire, though the car is a total loss.

Well at first this article says “It’s hard to read (heat) patterns off of vehicles because they are so compact.”
Then further down the article it says “In the car, just about anything in it can give off a (heart) pattern.” So what is it Mr/Ms reporter?
It’s exactly that. Because the car is so compact and most everything under the good causes heat patterns it is very hard to use heat patterns to decide what cause the fire to ignite.
Do you see the article says heart pattern and not heat pattern •♥
