CEDAR CITY – The Iron County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the deputy who was shot during a standoff in Kanarraville on Friday. The sheriff’s office has also released the identity of the suspected shooter, who is currently being treated for complications stemming from a gunshot wound he received in the standoff.
According to a statement issued by the Iron County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Kellen Hudson, 27, was shot in the hip while responding to a call about a suicidal subject at a trailer home in Kanarraville at around 1:47 p.m. Hudson was transported to Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City where he was treated and released a short time later.
