ST. GEORGE — An accident on Snow Canyon Boulevard clogged up westbound traffic for a time near the intersection with 1400 West after a black passenger car collided with a Jeep Wrangler.

The accident happened when the car, which was heading north on 1400 West,  attempted to make a left turn onto Snow Canyon Parkway and ran into the path of the eastbound Jeep, St. George Police Sgt. Jeff Bahlmann said.

The vehicles crashed in the intersection and ended up in the westbound lane of Snow Canyon Parkway, blocking traffic in one lane.

“We don’t know at this time what the primary cause of the accident was,” Bahlmann said. “We are talking to witnesses to determine if (the Jeep) had it’s lights on or not.”

The driver of the car was transported by an acquaintance to Dixie Regional Medical Center for minor injuries,  Bahlmann said. Both vehicles were severely damaged and had to be towed. No citations were issued, pending the results of the investigation into the cause of the accident.

Ed. Note: This report is based on preliminary information provided by the police and may not contain the full scope of findings.

Well now, let us look at this situation for a minute here. There was a car north bound on 1400 West at Snow Canyon Parkway. That is a stop sign controlled intersection where 1400 needs to make a stop and yield to any approaching traffic on the parkway. But the cops don’t know the primary cause of the accident?
    Right. . .
Wonder who the driver of that car is, or is related to.

Did you not read the article? It said police are talking to witnesses to find out if the jeep had their headlights on. If you are driving down the road with no lights on after dark and crash who’s fault is it? I prefer a complete investigation instead of officers jumping to conclusions.
