ST. GEORGE –Due to weather warnings and record breaking snowfall, the Walk Washington County walk set for last last week in LaVerkin was postponed until Saturday,at 1 p.m.
Walk Washington County, an ongoing CareCentennial walking celebration, invites participants to explore Washington County while improving their health. Each month a different city in the county has hosted a beautiful walk that explores the history of the city. December’s walk will in in LaVerkin.
The Walk Washington County event series is coming to a close with 10 completed walks, and hundreds in attendance at each event. The November Toquerville walk was canceled because of inclement weather; that city’s history and medallions will be available at the final walk.
The concluding walk will take place in LaVerkin on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the LaVerkin Elementary, 51 West Center Street. Participants should bring water and carpool, if possible.
Participants receive a free, wooden walking stick at their first walk and a medallion representing each city walk in which they participate. Those who have completed all of the 2013 walks will be eligible for a prize drawing to win a LiVe Well Assessment and a personal health coach for one month through the Intermountain LiVe Well Center. The drawing will take place after the LaVerkin walk ends on Saturday.
To be eligible for the drawing, participants must bring their walking stick with all of the 2013 medallions as proof they have completed every walk and must be present at the LaVerkin walk and prize drawing.
