Dixie Ophthalmic Specialists at Zion Eye Institute, 1 of 50 recognized ambulatory surgery centers nationally

ST. GEORGE –  Dixie Ophthalmic Specialists at Zion Eye Institute in St. George has been included in a September listing of Becker’s ASC Review as one of “50 ophthalmology-driven ambulatory surgery centers to know” nationwide.

The recognition in Becker’s listing is one the Institute’s professionals are proud to be a part of. Becker’s is a profession-specific publication that provides business, legal, clinical and regulatory guidance, as well as analysis and insight for specialties, to a qualified audience of more than 25,000 key ASC leaders, according to its website, including medical professionals and administrators.

“We are extremely proud to be on this list,” Zion Eye Institute’s executive director and ophthalmologist, Jason Ahee, said. “It’s a great tribute to our surgeons and our staff to be recognized for the outstanding care and service that we continually strive to provide for our patients.”

Zion Eye Institute was founded in 1979 to be a full-scale eye care provider of advanced diagnostics and surgery in Southern Utah. Joining forces in 2009, Dixie Ophthalmic Specialists now serves as the clinic arm of the Institute, while the Institute continues to provide the surgical side.

The doctors of Dixie Ophthalmic Specialists at Zion Eye Institute include surgeons specializing in procedures for cataracts, Lasik, glaucoma, cornea, oculoplastic, vitreoretinal, and ocular oncology, as well as two optometrists and a pediatric eye specialist. The doctors serve patients of all ages, from children to seniors, offering a full range of eye care from routine vision screening to advanced diagnostic and surgical procedures.

Zion Eye Institute is a fully capable facility with current technology and instruments. Its specialties include laser vision correction surgeries such as Lasik, an eye surgery that reshapes the inner layer of the cornea with an excimer laser; cataract, cornea and glaucoma surgeries; cosmetic eyelid and reconstructive surgery; retina surgery; and pediatric surgery.

The Institute is headquartered in St. George, with two satellite offices, in Cedar City and Mesquite, Nev.
